The Rural Thrift Store will remove all your unwanted useable goods for FREE for FREE!! almost anywhere in the Western Cape. (dangerous areas to be considered under advisement). We are a community based thrift store that sell 100% of all our clothes for between R1 and R10. All furniture (beds, tables, cupboards etc) and appliances (stoves, fridges etc) are sold for between 10% and 50% of their Retail Value to cover the cost of petrol, lights and staff wages...There is a serious need in the community for pots and pans and crockery or any other appliances to make life easier.The “Thrift Store” concept was derived from the word “thrift” to be frugal. USEABLE (available for use, utilizable, disposable, at someone's disposal, ready for use, fit for use; working, in working order, functioning, functional, serviceable, workable, operational and or operative.) Thrift shops are a type of social enterprise. They usually sell mainly used goods donated by members of the public, and are often staffed by one or two people. Because the items for sale were obtained for free and sometimes bought at a low cost, and business costs are low, the items can be sold at competitive prices. Costs include purchase and/or depreciation of fixtures (clothing racks, bookshelves, counters, etc.), operating costs (maintenance, municipal service fees, electricity, telephone, limited advertising, petrol, vehicle costs) and the buildings rent. I can collect anytime: just need date, time and address when you are at home.
